Don't be deceived by the Advancing Aberystwyth questionnaire.

Advancing Aberystwyth are visiting businesses asking to complete a questionnaire but what is this really about ?

This is a common tactic throughout the country on every BID, both initial and reballot and is possibly being steered by the external consultants as it is similar to many other Towns.

The section “Business Priorities” is getting you to tick a box on what you deem the Town needs most but as with every Town and every business, we all want to see our Towns grow and thrive and all three are applicable, in no particular order.

The results of this will be used in the same way as Ceredigion County Council used the pedestrianisation survey, to paint a picture they want you to read.

It will read “the majority of businesses want a BID to increase footfall” , well there is a surprise, show me one business in the Country who doesn’t want to see increased footfall.

The section below asking which way you would vote now is simply to gauge and know where the Yes votes are, remember, the levy criteria has yet to be determined, and will be tweaked to suit and map manipulated, very few BIDs go to reballot exactly the same as the first one.

This is how one sided the process is and this continues throughout the process to vote rigging, more on this as the process develops.

Advancing Aberystwyth are currently working on the best way to get a Yes vote in March and if required will move the goalposts to suit.
