Cranleigh Business Improvement District (BID) was controversially established in 2023 without a proper consultation process with the businesses. Add to this BID Managers and a Board of Directors failing to deliver the business plan and showing contempt for their levy paying businesses, then we have an unwanted BID ready to be kicked out!

10 reasons why businesses are unhappy with Cranleigh BID:
1. BID is an extra tax on hard working businesses we just don’t need.
2. Businesses are not seeing any return on investment, so why throw good money after bad?
3. The BID is reducing financial demands on the Councils at the expense of businesses.
4. BID was established following a failed 2023 consultation process and ballot, with many businesses not even receiving a ballot paper.
5. Businesses are feeling bullied and forced into paying the BID levy.
6. Poor communication with levy payers.
7. Back door dealing with WBC to pay for things the Council paid for.
8. Lies and broken promises from the Business Plan.
9. Wasting money on employing useless BID Managers.
10. An ineffective Board of Directors.
As levy payers we deserve better, whilst the Councils are neglecting their responsibilities and laughing all the way to the bank.
Cranleigh businesses are wasting their money and we need to end this stealth tax!
