Go Compare, Confused.Com and Meercat .......
Over the past four years Advancing Aberystwyth have actually paid for the services of a price comparison company called Meercat Associates.
Meercat provide cost savings comparison services to the businesses of Aberystwyth on utilities, waste collection, card machines etc, but for a price.
Advancing Aberystwyth have so far PAID Meercat £40,000 to carry out this comparison service. This is despite the fact that even Meercat will provide the service for FREE ( this has been tested )
Most businesses have only been contacted once or not at all during the last 4 years and many have not taken up Meercat services as they have not been cheaper than their existing suppliers, so over the four year period this has cost each business over £100
Despite all of the above Advancing Aberystwyth are still looking to continue with this scheme throughout the next term should they get a Yes vote and claim the Town will lose this service if it votes NO to a BID.
Let's just save £50,000 and just vote NO this March..
