Handing money back to the Council!

Before the BID process commenced in 2016, the Council had earmarked £250k for the businesses of the Town, this came from the Mill Street Development.

This was handed to the BID to spend in the five year term, drawing this off as and when needed and not just for specific projects, the first draw down covered the wages for the BID Manager.

Fast forward to the Business Plan and we see some of this funding being carried forward into the second term having not been fully spent, however if there is a NO vote, what happens to the money?

It simply gets handed back to the Council!!

So whilst businesses have been taken to Court during these hard times, the BID has been sitting on funding that it refuses to or cannot spend.
