The Council asks for money from the BID and the Council gets money from the BID.
The Council asks for money from the BID and the Council gets money from the BID - just because they are friends showing goodwill! 😍😍
This is just one example of many we will bring you showing you how Councillors see Minehead BID as a pot of money to try and dip into when they feel like it, in order to save their own Council budgets.
At a July 2021 MTC meeting the Council voted to budget £2,000 on the clock repair, it cost £1,768 in the end and they still pursued the BID for a contribution, managing to squeeze £300 out of the BID businesses.
Clear evidence that the BID saved the Council £300 of its’ own budget spend.
Two MTC Councillors even voted against spending £2,000 to restore the clock as they thought the money could be spent better elsewhere in Minehead.
Was this goodwill gift to just one levy payer really fair?
Are all levy payers allowed to ask the BID for money when they feel like it?
When voting last time were you told your hard earned levy money will fill Council pockets to save their own budgets?
